Social media activist and former politician from the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Ade Armando, claims he is awaiting a police summons following reports against him in a hate speech case that also implicates the 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK).

Ade made this statement in response to signals of JK’s rejection of an invitation to meet regarding the case.

“I will wait for the police summons,” said Ade when contacted on Thursday (7/5).

Ade claims he is prepared to face the legal process against him. He believes he is not guilty and considers the accusers’ allegations in the case to be exaggerated.

“Of course, I am ready to face the legal process. I feel I am not guilty. In my view, their accusations are exaggerated,” Ade stated.

Previously, Ade claimed he was willing to meet JK and to apologise to the Muslim and Christian communities if his statements on the Cokro TV YouTube channel were deemed offensive to them.

However, Ade emphasised that none of his statements were intended to hurt JK or the Muslim and Christian communities.

“If I am brought face-to-face with Mr JK, I would be willing. Or if I have to apologise to the Muslim community, for example, or the Christian community, I am prepared,” said Ade during a press conference at the PSI DPP office on Tuesday (5/5).

Recently, JK’s spokesperson, Husain Abdullah, did not respond as to whether JK would accept a meeting with Ade Armando. He only stated that all parties should follow the ongoing legal process.

“Because the legal process is ongoing, we should just follow it,” said Husain when contacted on Wednesday (6/5).

Ade, along with Grace Natalie and Permadi Arya, was reported to the Metro Jaya Regional Police regarding allegations of incitement and provocation stemming from excerpts of a sermon by the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK), at the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Mosque some time ago.

The report was filed by the Maluku Advocacy Profession Alliance (APAM) and registered under number LP/B/2767/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.

Recently, 40 Islamic mass organisations under the Alliance for Interfaith Harmony also reported Ade and Permadi to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency on Tuesday (5/5). The report was received and registered under number LP/B/185/V/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri dated 4 May 2026.

The reports against Ade originated when Jusuf Kalla or JK was reported by several parties, including the Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI) DPP, to the police for alleged blasphemy in excerpts of his sermon video at the UGM Mosque during Ramadan or March 2026.
