Ade Armando Ready to Meet JK and Apologise to the Muslim Community
Social media activist Ade Armando claims he is ready to meet the 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) following reports against him in the alleged incitement and hate speech case.
Ade admits that this is not the first time he has been reported. Ahead of the 2024 elections, he was also reported for hate speech for criticising land ownership in Yogyakarta. At that time, he issued an apology.
In this case, Ade also claims he is ready to meet JK and express apologies to Muslims or Christians if his statements on Cokro TV’s YouTube are deemed offensive to them.
However, Ade emphasises that none of his statements were intended to hurt JK or Muslims and Christians.
“If I am brought face to face with Mr JK, I would be willing. Or if I have to apologise to the Muslim community, for example, or the Christian community, I am prepared,” Ade said during a press conference at the PSI DPP office on Tuesday (5/5).
“But I will say that I have never incited division, I have never insulted religion,” he added.
On that occasion, Ade also announced his resignation from the party. He believes the reports against him have gone too far in involving the party and could disrupt PSI’s activities in the 2029 elections.
“Like people will make it difficult for PSI’s work in the future to promote the party in various places, heading towards the 2029 elections,” he said.
Ade, along with Permadi Arya, was reported to Polda Metro Jaya regarding alleged incitement and provocation following a clip of a sermon by the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK), when he gave a sermon at the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Mosque some time ago.
The report was filed by the Maluku Advocacy Profession Alliance (APAM) and registered under number LP/B/2767/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.
Recently, 40 Islamic organisations under the Alliance for Religious Harmony also reported Ade and Permadi to Bareskrim Polri on Tuesday (5/5). The report was accepted and registered under number LP/B/185/V/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri dated 4 May 2026.
The reports against Ade and Permadi began when Jusuf Kalla or JK was reported by several parties, including the DPP of the Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI), to the police for alleged blasphemy in a clip of his sermon video at UGM Mosque during Ramadan or March 2026.
The GAMKI General Chairman who brought the report to the police, Sahat Martin Philip Sinurat, is a PSI cadre serving as Acting Chairman of PSI’s North Sumatra Provincial Board and Head of PSI’s Politics Division at that time.
Not only Ade and Permadi, the 40 organisations also reported PSI Council Secretary Grace Natalie.
