Jakarta (ANTARA) - Metro Jaya Regional Police will soon conduct an in-depth analysis of evidence related to a report by the Maluku Alliance of Advocate Professions (APAM) against two social media activists, Ade Armando and Permadi Arya, filed at Metro Jaya Regional Police in South Jakarta on Monday (20/4), suspected of incitement and provocation.

“The evidence will certainly be analysed and tested. Polri has a credible and certified digital forensics lab,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, in his statement on Thursday.

At present, he mentioned that Metro Jaya Regional Police is still preparing the investigation administration as well as requesting statements from the reporter, witness statements, and evidence.

Previously, Metro Jaya Regional Police investigated the report against the two social media activists, Ade Armando and Permadi Arya, regarding the alleged incitement and provocation case on social media.

“The suspects are under preliminary investigation,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4).

He mentioned that the report relates to video content uploaded on the YouTube social media platform through the Cokro TV channel.

Meanwhile, the Maluku Alliance of Advocate Professions (APAM) reported the two social media activists, Ade Armando and Permadi Arya, to Metro Jaya Regional Police in South Jakarta on Monday (20/4) for allegedly committing incitement and provocation.

“Today, we visited Metro Jaya Regional Police to file a police report regarding the alleged criminal acts of incitement and provocation suspected to have been committed by Ade Armando and Permadi Arya through social media,” said the APAM representative and reporter, Paman Nurlette, when met at the Criminal Investigation Unit of Metro Jaya Regional Police on Monday (20/4).

He explained that according to the provisions of Article 1 paragraph 3 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Indonesian state is a rule of law state, which implies that all existing problems should be processed through the applicable legal channels.

“Therefore, as law-abiding citizens with ethical awareness, we come to report Ade Armando and Permadi Arya, in the hope that they will be processed through the applicable legal channels to provide justice that is certain, certainty that is just, and beneficial for all the Indonesian people,” Paman stated.
