Metro Jaya Regional Police are investigating a report against two social media activists, Ade Armando and Permadi Arya alias Abu Janda, regarding an alleged case of incitement and provocation on social media. The report pertains to video content uploaded on YouTube via the Cokro TV channel. “The suspects are under preliminary investigation,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Commissioner Pol Budi Hermanto, in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. Previously, the Maluku Alliance of Advocate Professions (APAM) reported the two social media activists, Ade Armando and Permadi Arya, to Metro Jaya Regional Police in South Jakarta on Monday (20/4) for allegedly committing incitement and provocation. “Today, we visited Metro Jaya Regional Police to file a police report regarding the alleged criminal acts of incitement and provocation suspected to have been committed by Mr Ade Armando and Permadi Arya through social media,” said APAM representative and complainant, Paman Nurlette, when met at the Criminal Investigation Unit of Metro Jaya Regional Police on Monday (20/4). Paman explained that according to the provisions of Article 1 paragraph 3 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, it states that the Indonesian State is a state based on law, which implies that all problems should be processed through the applicable legal channels. “Therefore, as law-abiding citizens with ethical awareness, we come to report Mr Ade Armando and Permadi Arya in the hope that they will be processed through the applicable legal channels to provide justice that is certain, certainty that is just, and beneficial for all the Indonesian people,” he said.
