Metro Jaya Police are continuing to investigate reports related to the controversy surrounding an edited video clip of a lecture by the 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK), at the UGM Campus Mosque, which went viral on social media.

In the latest development, the police have confirmed that they will analyse the full video of JK’s lecture as part of the investigation process.

“Evidence will certainly be analysed and examined,” stated the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, on Thursday, 23 April 2026.

Budi explained that the analysis process will be conducted using Polri’s certified facilities, ensuring that the results are legally accountable.

“Polri has a credible and certified digital forensic lab,” he said.

In addition, investigators will take several follow-up steps in the near future, including examining the complainant, gathering witness statements, and collecting other evidence.

“Preparing to investigate, requesting statements from the complainant, witness statements, and evidence,” he added.

It is known that the report was previously submitted by Paman Nurlette along with the Maluku Alliance of Professional Advocates against PSI politician Ade Armando and social media activist Heddy Setya Permadi alias Abu Janda.

The report was registered under number LP/B/2767/IV/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA on 20 April 2026. In the report, the two individuals are suspected of violating Article 48 of Law No. 1 of 2024 on the second amendment to Law No. 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions in conjunction with Article 32 and/or Article 243 of the Criminal Code.

Nevertheless, the status of the reported parties in this case remains at the investigation stage. This is because the complainant has only provided evidence in the form of an edited video clip from YouTube channel Cokro TV, although the subjects reported are Ade Armando and Abu Janda.
