Yogyakarta — PT Jasamarga Jogja Solo is preparing additional operational facilities to anticipate heavy vehicle congestion on the Prambanan–Purwomartani tollway during its functional operation throughout the 2026 Lebaran holiday exodus period.

A number of staff and transaction devices have been prepared with capacity doubled to ensure smooth service at toll gates.

Ahmad Izzi, Principal Expert in General Affairs, Public Relations and Administration at Jasamarga Jogja–Solo, stated that the measure is being taken to anticipate the surge in vehicle volume along the tollway.

“Our anticipation, as I mentioned, involves doubling operational staff,” Izzi said.

Beyond increasing personnel, Jasamarga is also preparing additional transaction systems comprising mobile transaction readers to enhance service capacity.

“In addition to the permanent equipment already in place, we have mobile readers. So the capacity is doubled. For example, if there are six gates here, we can handle at least 12 transactions simultaneously,” he explained.

According to Izzi, mobile readers will be deployed when traffic conditions require additional handling to keep vehicle transaction processing running smoothly.

He also clarified that the functional tollway operation is situational in nature and may change depending on field conditions and police discretion.

“The operation of this functional tollway is situational. If the police determine that the tollway poses some risk, such as unsupportive weather conditions, then the tollway will be temporarily closed,” he stated.

Izzi added that operational facilities on the section are prepared to serve vehicles leaving the Yogyakarta region.

“Tollway operational staff are only handling vehicles departing from Yogyakarta,” he confirmed.
