Additional burden on the nation

From Pelita

Lately, the incidence of muggings and brawling among students has been on the increase. This often ends with the loss of life among the students themselves or innocent people. The students' bad habits can be found not only in Jakarta but also in other regions.

As a university student in the city, I feel concerned about the appetite of students, the nation's future generation, for brawls, muggings, free sex, drugs and other negative acts.

The nation is now in difficulty and is being put to the test by God but, apparently, our younger generations are ignoring the situation and have no willingness to continue the country's struggle. They have just placed a further burden on the state. The country's younger generation leaves a lot to be desired.

What will the nation be like? No idea. I only feel sad, disappointed and desperate when I look at the future of our younger generation. Therefore, I call on all parents to pay attention to their children's conduct and, if necessary, to impart more religious teachings to them.

The government and the public should also cooperate in correcting mistakes. We don't want our nation to disintegrate. Do we want our country to be controlled by foreign nations? The decision is in the hands of the future generation!
