Additional BTS concert date in Jakarta seen as proof of global trust

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that the addition of a third concert date for K-pop group BTS in Jakarta is evidence of increasing global trust in the capital. “What pleases me is that people now have trust, confidence, in Jakarta. For example, tomorrow, even though it is in December, there is a K-pop event, a world K-pop star, BTS, which previously had only two days, on 26-27 December, because Jakarta is trusted, an extra day has been added on the 29th. So, 26, 27, 29,” he said in Central Jakarta on Friday. He also assessed that the presence of world stages will have a positive impact on Jakarta’s economy. According to him, the presence of international events can drive the city’s economy more broadly, from the hotel, transport, and culinary sectors to micro businesses that will also feel the benefits. “So, the contribution to Jakarta’s economy will certainly be significant,” said Pramono. Furthermore, he viewed the promoter’s decision to add a concert day as a demonstration that Jakarta is capable of providing a sense of security and comfort for international event organisers. “This shows that one of the main measures is when world stages come to Jakarta and they feel safe, comfortable, and so on,” he said. The promoter, IME Indonesia, announced via Instagram that due to very high demand, a third show for the BTS World Tour ‘ARIRANG’ in Jakarta has been added. The additional performance is scheduled for 29 December 2026. Ticket sales reopened on 19 June 2026 from 12.00 to 22.00 WIB for fan club members (ARMY Membership), followed by general sales on 20 June 2026 starting at 12.00 WIB. The concert, titled ‘ARIRANG’, was previously confirmed to be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on 26 and 27 December 2026.
