Adding Value, 243 Companies Receive PROPER Green Awards

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The PROPER Environmental Award is the government’s most consistent programme and has been running for three decades. PROPER is a performance assessment programme that encourages companies not only to comply but to seriously implement sustainability.

The PROPER Green Award is a form of recognition for the extraordinary efforts of companies that not only meet environmental regulations but also exceed those standards through various innovations and sustainable best practices.

Out of a total of 2,428 companies, 243 of the best were selected as candidates for Green, making them worthy of the Green Ranking. The PROPER Green assessment focuses on various tangible company efforts in environmental management within the life cycle assessment framework, starting from energy efficiency, emission reductions, to biodiversity conservation.

The Green Ranking also does not focus solely on environmental aspects but also on social aspects in the evaluation process. Companies are assessed on their contributions to community empowerment, welfare improvement, and disaster preparedness.

The number of PROPER companies in 2025 increased by 22% to 4,495, comprising 5,476 from 200 Indonesian sectors. The number of companies requiring supervision is 72,000, but only 5,476 have been supervised through PROPER. Meanwhile, out of 5,476 PROPER participants, 2,437 companies are recorded in the compliant category. Then, 2,886 companies are non-compliant, and their performance is still far from expectations.

Obtaining the PROPER Green Award is not instantaneous but has gone through a series of comprehensive, objective, and multi-layered assessment processes to ensure that every environmental performance aspect is measurable and accountable.
