PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BRIS) has announced the appointment of Addin Jauharudin as Independent Commissioner of BSI, with the position taking effect from 11 March 2026.

According to disclosure documents filed with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), BSI stated that the appointment of the independent commissioner follows from a decision made at the Annual General Shareholders’ Meeting (AGBM) held on 16 May 2025 regarding approval of changes to the company’s management composition.

The company confirmed that it had received approval from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) through letter number SR-215/PB.13/2026 dated 6 March 2026 regarding the results of the fit and proper test assessment for the prospective independent commissioner.

BSI management stated that the appointment of this independent commissioner has no material impact on the company’s operational activities, legal status, financial condition, or business continuity.

Addin Jauharudin is a professional born in Cirebon in 1980 with an extensive track record in corporate governance, particularly in several state-owned enterprises (SOEs). He is known for actively holding positions as independent commissioner in various strategic companies whilst also serving in civil society organisations and Islamic economic bodies.

During his career, he previously served as Independent Commissioner at PT Waskita Karya Tbk from 2023 to 2025. Earlier, he was trusted as Independent Commissioner at PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) from 2018 to 2023. In an earlier period, he served as Independent Commissioner at PT Garam (Persero) from 2014 to 2018.

Beyond the SOE sector, he has been active in the cooperative sector, serving as Oversight Coordinator for KSP Daya Inspirasi Bangsa from 2020 to 2025. In youth organisation leadership, he was entrusted to lead Gerakan Pemuda Ansor as General Chairman for the period 2024 to 2029. He also contributed to Islamic economic development as Head of the Halal Product Division at Masyarakat Ekonomi Syariah from 2021 to 2023.

In terms of education, he possesses strong academic credentials in management and Islamic studies. He earned a doctoral degree (S3) from Universitas Brawijaya in 2019 specialising in Strategic Management. Previously, he completed a Master’s degree in Management (S2) from Universitas Trisakti in 2016. His undergraduate degree (S1) was obtained from Institut Agama Islam Al-Aqidah with a specialisation in Al-Ahwal Al-Syakhshiyah (Islamic Personal Law) in 1998.
