ADB to lend RI $32 million
MANILA (AFP): The Asian Development Bank (ADB) said here yesterday that it had approved a 32-million-dollar loan to Indonesia for a conservation project.
The loan will go to protecting the 227,000-hectare (560,690- acre) Lore Lindu national park in Central Sulawesi and to improving the livelihood of the 117 rural villages in the area adjoining the park, the Manila-based ADB said in a statement.
The project will involve promoting economic development that is environmentally sound and beneficial for both the local population and the park, the ADB said.
