ADB to help fight malnutrition

JAKARTA: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is providing "project preparatory technical assistance", or PPTA, to help develop a nutrition improvement program in six cities across Indonesia this year.

The bank has appointed the British Council to sign up international and local experts to help develop the program, which is expected to run from July 1 to Oct. 31.

A press statement from the British Council said on Wednesday that the six cities would be selected based on "rational considerations". It did not elaborate.

A team of experts would visit the selected cities to develop the program so as to improve public nutrition. Local partners would also be involved so as to ensure the success of the program, particularly among the poor and disadvantaged. --JP
