Jakarta — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is supporting the development of Indonesia’s digital economy ecosystem through USD 150 million in financing (approximately Rp2.53 trillion at current exchange rates of Rp16,886 per USD) to PT Link Net Tbk (Linknet, stock ticker: LINK).

The funding will be used to strengthen the company’s stability and facilitate further investment in the national fibre optic broadband market, thereby supporting improvements in broadband internet network quality as part of Indonesia’s digital infrastructure.

“By supporting the expansion of Linknet’s digital infrastructure services, we aim to provide inclusive and equitable access and unlock the digital economic potential of this country, which is estimated to reach USD 366 billion by 2030,” said Bobur Alimov, ADB Director for Indonesia, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He stated that the partnership reinforces the ADB’s role as one of the primary partners in Indonesia’s digital development agenda.

Alimov noted that the agreement also supports the Indonesian government’s climate commitments through energy-efficient technology and the expansion of network assets.

Since 2015, Indonesia’s mobile broadband industry has grown rapidly, but the adoption, access, and affordability of fixed broadband products, such as fibre optic networks, remain lagging compared to neighbouring countries.
