ADB lends to Indonesia

MANILA (AFP): The Asian Development Bank (ADB) yesterday
approved a US$85 million loan to Indonesia to improve the quality
of its Islamic senior secondary schools, the Philippines-based
bank said in a statement.

The project would help narrow the gap between the senior
secondary schools run by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, which
are patronized by poorer students, and schools run by the
education ministry, it said.
