ADB extends Rp 15b in aid to Poso

POSO, Central Sulawesi: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has
agreed to a Rp 15 billion loan for a rural development project in
Poso regency, Central Sulawesi.

The project is meant to help increase the incomes of rural
people, particularly economically weak families, the project
coordinator in Poso, Husban, said on Monday.

"The project aims to improve local people's skills in planning
and managing a number of development activities in the district,"
he said, adding that it was also expected to open investment
opportunities for the development of small businesses.

Poso was the scene of two years of religious violence that
