PT Adaro Indonesia has once again received the PROPER Gold award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, marking the seventh consecutive achievement from 2019 to 2025. The highest accolade in the Company Performance Rating Programme (PROPER) was presented on 7 April 2026 in Jakarta.

The award was given by the Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, to the President Director of PT Adaro Indonesia, Priyadi. PROPER Gold is the top ranking awarded to companies assessed as surpassing compliance standards in environmental management while implementing sustainable community empowerment programmes.

This achievement brings Adaro’s total PROPER Gold awards to eight since first receiving it in 2012. The company is recognised for consistently applying sustainability principles in its business operations, including environmental protection, emission reduction, and biodiversity conservation.

President Director of PT Adaro Indonesia, Priyadi, stated that sustainability is a core part of the company’s business strategy. “For us, sustainability is an integral part of our business strategy and operations. Our responsible and sustainable mining approach is translated into governance, operational excellence, sustainable innovation, and responsible relationships with employees, the environment, and communities,” he said.

Adaro also implements various initiatives that go beyond regulatory obligations (beyond compliance). These efforts include improving safety and occupational health performance, energy efficiency, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in operational areas.

In addition, the company strengthens social programmes through community empowerment around mining areas. These programmes aim to create independent, prosperous, and environmentally aware communities.

One developed social innovation is the Taman Wisata Menanti Laburan programme in South Kalimantan. This programme promotes environmental education while encouraging local economic development.

The Ministry of Environment assesses a company’s success in achieving PROPER Gold not only by regulatory compliance but also by innovation and tangible contributions to sustainable development. This award is expected to encourage other companies to improve their environmental and social performance in their business activities.
