Medan — Adam Malik Hospital in Medan, North Sumatra, has mobilised medical teams and health facilities to ensure service remains optimal during the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday break.

“We are preparing human resources scheduling, infrastructure, and facilities during the holiday and collective leave period, so that service to patients continues to run optimally,” said Rosario Dorothy Simanjuntak, Legal and Public Relations Manager of Adam Malik Hospital, in Medan on Friday.

She explained that the Emergency Department (IGD) and Special Cardiac Emergency Service Unit (UPK2J) at the Integrated Cardiac Centre (PJT) building will remain open 24 hours to serve patients throughout the Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr holidays.

The vertical hospital under the Ministry of Health is deploying five specialist doctors on-site daily, including specialists in anaesthesia, surgery, internal medicine, paediatrics, and obstetrics and gynaecology.

“Meanwhile, other specialist doctors remain on standby and will be assigned on-call according to the patient cases being handled,” she said.

She stated that nursing and other health personnel have also been prepared to ensure health services continue during the holiday period.

“The emergency operating theatre service will also remain open 24 hours, whilst the central operating theatre will be closed during national holidays and this collective leave period,” she said.

Rosario said other hospitals wishing to refer patients to Adam Malik Hospital may continue to do so according to standard procedures, namely through the Integrated Referral Information System (Sisrute) application.

All services at Adam Malik Hospital will return to normal operations after the holiday on Wednesday (25 March).
