Adam Deni's Legal Team Seeks Restorative Justice in Ruko Vandalism Case, Police Respond

The legal team for celebrity influencer Adam Deni is hoping for restorative justice in the case involving the vandalism of a shop and the intimidation of an employee using an airsoft gun in the Cilincing area of North Jakarta. The police have not yet received a restorative justice request letter from Adam Deni’s side. “As of now, we have not received any letter regarding the request and there has been no request from the suspect ADM for restorative justice,” explained North Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigation AKP Bima Sakti to reporters on Monday (22/6/2026).

Police are also currently tracing the origin of the airsoft gun that Adam Deni displayed during the vandalism. “We will conduct an examination with an expert regarding the possession of the firearm and we will also investigate where or how the suspect obtained the item,” said Bima.

Adam Deni has been arrested by the North Jakarta Metro Police and immediately detained for this case. Police have charged Adam Deni with two articles, namely Article 306 of the 2023 Criminal Code concerning the possession of goods or objects suspected to be firearms and Article 521 of the 2023 Criminal Code concerning vandalism.

Adam Deni’s lawyer, Herwanto, previously explained that Adam Deni’s possession of the airsoft gun was equated with a firearm because it was used outside a designated shooting practice area. His team will request restorative justice to resolve this matter. “It’s just that this airsoft gun can be equated with a firearm when it is outside the shooting range. It is meant for sports. So, he was charged with a firearm offence because he was outside the sports arena. I think this is not so serious, it can be resolved. So if there is information about restorative justice, I hope tomorrow it can be resolved through restorative justice,” he added.

“Yes, yes. I think because this is a personal grudge, maybe it was a momentary emotion. And also, the weapon he carried was not a dangerous weapon, not an explosive,” he continued.

Adam Deni is in trouble with the law again. This time he has been named a suspect after vandalising a shop in North Jakarta while displaying an airsoft gun. Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that police initially received a report from a resident who was a victim of business facility vandalism on Wednesday (17/6). At that time, according to Budi, Adam Deni came to one of the shops and forced his way in.

“The handling of this case is based on an official report from the victim as the business owner to the North Jakarta Metro Police. Based on the crime scene investigation and file examination, the incident began on Wednesday night (17/6), around 8.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time at Yummy Coin Shop, Jalan Terusan Kelapa Hybrida, Sukapura, Cilincing, North Jakarta,” said Budi in a statement on Sunday (21/6).

Budi said Adam Deni was allegedly angry because his request was not fulfilled. Adam Deni then allegedly damaged the shop’s billboard, punched holes in the gypsum partition wall, and damaged other shop property such as chairs and sanitation facilities. “Not only that, the suspect also carried out intimidation by showing a unit of an airsoft gun tucked in his waistband to the shop’s security guard so that his request would be fulfilled,” explained Budi.

Budi stated that Adam Deni returned to the location on Thursday (18/6) at 7.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. At that time, Adam Deni damaged the victim’s parked car. “Receiving a report from employees and security guards, Cilincing Police personnel immediately went to the location to secure the suspect procedurally without physical friction, then transferred the handling to the North Jakarta Metro Police,” he said.
