Adam Deni Arrested Again After Damaging Shop House in North Jakarta
Social media personality Adam Deni Gearaka, 30, is in trouble with the law once again. This time he was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police after damaging a shop house unit in the Cilincing area, North Jakarta.
Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Head, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained the case. He revealed that police received a report from a resident who was a victim of business facility vandalism on Wednesday (17/6). At that time, Budi said, Adam Deni came to one of the shop houses and forced his way in.
“The handling of this case is based on an official report from the victim, the business owner, to the North Jakarta Metro Police. Based on the crime scene investigation and document examination, the incident began on Wednesday evening (17/6) at around 8.30 p.m. WIB at the Yummy Coin Shop House, Jalan Terusan Kelapa Hybrida, Sukapura, Cilincing, North Jakarta,” Budi said in a statement on Sunday (21/6/2026).
It is suspected that Adam Deni was angry because his demands were not met. Adam Deni then vandalised the shop’s billboard, punched a hole in the gypsum partition wall, and damaged other shop house property such as chairs and sanitation facilities.
“Not only that, the suspect also carried out intimidation by showing an airsoft gun tucked in his waistband to the shop house security guard so that his demands would be met,” Budi explained.
On Thursday (18/6) at 7.30 p.m. WIB, Adam Deni returned to the location. At that time, Adam Deni damaged the victim’s car which was parked there.
“Receiving a report from employees and security personnel, Cilincing Police Sector personnel immediately went to the location to secure the suspect procedurally without any physical altercation, then transferred the handling to the North Jakarta Metro Police,” he said.
The victim suffered losses of up to Rp 15 million. Adam Deni is charged under Article 521 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code regarding the destruction of another person’s property.
“Based on the results of intensive examination and the fulfilment of evidence—including the shop house’s CCTV footage, statements from seven witnesses, and the seizure of one airsoft gun unit,” he said.
Budi stated that Adam Deni admitted his mistake and requested restorative justice. He said Adam Deni remains in detention.
“We emphasise that although the motive was triggered by a personal dispute, the method of resolving the problem by intimidating with a weapon and damaging public property is an unlawful act that must be processed professionally,” he said.
Police have elevated Adam Deni’s status to suspect. Adam Deni was immediately detained.
“ADG’s legal status has been elevated to suspect and he is now officially detained. During the examination process, the suspect admitted all his actions and submitted a request for restorative justice,” Budi explained.
Budi stated that the police are taking a firm stance against Adam Deni because he has previously committed criminal acts. The reason is that he made threats and damaged a shop house.
“However, we emphasise that although the motive was triggered by a personal dispute, the method of resolving the problem by intimidating with a weapon and damaging public property is an unlawful act that must be processed professionally,” he added.
