JAKARTA: Television drama actress Reggie Lawalata, 42, was
robbed on Tuesday while stuck in a traffic jam at the
intersection near Pondok Indah Mall in South Jakarta. She lost Rp
10 million (US$1,176.47).
Reggie, the mother of noted designer Oscar Lawalata, had left
the car doors unlocked, which enabled an unidentified man to open
one of the doors and snatch her bag.
Reggie said that she grabbed one of the straps of the bag but
it broke.
The robber fled the scene on the back of a motorcycle ridden
by an accomplice.
Reggie, a resident of the Bintaro residential area in
Tangerang, was driving her BMW back to the boutique she owns when
the incident occurred.
South Jakarta Police are investigating the case. -- JP
