Actor 'Pak' Tile dead at 67
JAKARTA (JP): Senior but still popular actor Muhammad Nun
Tile, fondly known as Pak Tile, passed away at 67 here on Monday
morning. He suffered from chronic asthma and bronchial cancer.
Pak Tile, who played Doel's grandfather in the top-rating Si
Doel Anak Sekolahan (Doel, The College Student) local drama
series, died at 2:45 a.m. in his residence in Srengseng Sawah in
Lenteng Agung, Depok, south of here.
Some 100 people, including dignitaries, crammed into his
three-room plywood home, close to the Srengseng Sawah railway
line, at noon.
They included Governor Sutiyoso and fellow artists, such as
Rano Karno, Suti Karno, Mandra.
Pak Tile is survived by present wife Tomih Bingi Gatong, 37,
and eight children from his late wife, Nenny.
He was buried at the Dotze public cemetery, about two
kilometers from his home at about 1 p.m.
Pak Tile, who made his debut in the film industry in 1987 with
Kipas Kipas Cari Angin (Fans Looking For Wind), was an active
member of the Sinar Jaya lenong (comedy) troupe, headed by Betawi
legend H. Nasir since the 1950s. (ylt)
