Activist: Trump 'Rides' Christian Teachings in War Against Iran

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, WASHINGTON – The administration of US President Donald Trump is ‘arming’ Christianity to justify its actions in the Middle East. Meanwhile, Israel continues to act without punishment because most Western countries turn a blind eye. This was stated by Irish activist and satirist Tadhg Hickey. Appearing on the East Meets West programme on RT, hosted by Tara Reade and Olga Bataman, Hickey described the irony that Trump and other officials in his administration have used biblical messages in their public statements about the war against Iran. Yet in reality, their actions are increasingly distant from the teachings of Christ. “This is an extortion of Christian ideology that I find utterly horrifying. It is truly vulgar to think that Jesus is some kind of war agent for these people, and there is nothing Christian in their values or behaviour,” said Hickey. He described Israel acting with total impunity in Gaza and elsewhere, and seeking to escape punishment as much as possible while Trump is in the White House. Israel is confident that it will not face opposition from Washington or Western countries more broadly.
