Action Mass in Malang Supports Continuation of Free Nutritious Meal Programme

A mass action calling themselves Simpatisan MBG Malang Raya voiced their support for the continuation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme during a Grand Assembly and Group Exercise held at Alun-Alun Tugu, Malang City, East Java, on Saturday. The coordinator of the event, Gandung, stated that the MBG is a strategic programme initiated by President Prabowo Subianto that has provided positive benefits to the community. “We, together with figures in Greater Malang, scheduled this activity to provide positive energy so that the MBG Programme can proceed with public support,” Gandung said. The sympathisers committed to overseeing the smooth implementation of the MBG Programme until it reaches the target of 82.9 million beneficiaries. He noted that since the programme’s inception, farmers and livestock breeders have gained certainty regarding the supply chain of agricultural and livestock products to the market. “Demand for products is more stable because the need for nutritious food must be continuously available, thus it is absorbed sustainably,” said Djoni. Therefore, he argued, rather than halting the MBG, it would be better for the programme to undergo rigorous evaluation so that future implementation is improved. “What is already running on the ground must not be stopped; what needs fixing are the management aspects considered still problematic,” he stated. The mass of Simpatisan MBG Malang Raya had filled the Alun-Alun Tugu area since around 6.30 a.m. WIB, wearing white t-shirts. The front of the shirts displayed the text “82 Million Beneficiaries” and the back read “Together with Prabowo Indonesia Maju, #Prabowo Baik”. Several banners at the event location also expressed support for the head of state and the MBG programme, including “Movement to Support Prabowo”, “Thank You Mr. Prabowo for Overseeing MBG Until It Is Quality”, “We Fully Support the MBG Programme”, and “Our Voice for the Stomachs of the Nation’s Children”. The Grand Assembly and Group Exercise lasted until around 10.50 a.m. WIB, after which the crowd dispersed in an orderly manner.
