Action Against Three Former BGN Leaders Seen as Evidence of Commitment to Eradicating Corruption

The law enforcement action taken by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) against three former leaders of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has gained support from the PP Pemuda Katolik community organisation. The three individuals identified are the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, and two former deputies, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung.

“We appreciate the concrete steps taken by the Attorney General’s Office, which moved swiftly to name the BGN leaders as suspects in this alleged corruption case, even less than a day after the removal of the Head of BGN on Tuesday night,” said the General Chairman of Pemuda Katloik, Stefanus Gusma, on Thursday, 4 June 2026.

He assessed that this legal action demonstrates that the ‘cleansing’ process within the Prabowo-Gibran administration is not merely a slogan. “This enforcement is a tangible manifestation of the Prabowo-Gibran government’s commitment to eradicating alleged corruption, as evidenced by the current detention of the Head of BGN and his two deputies,” he stated.

Furthermore, he noted that this enforcement marks a new chapter in the investigation into the alleged trading of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG). “This is actually uncovering new layers of other cases, such as the alleged trading of SPPG and others. Therefore, we support this law enforcement until the very roots are exposed,” he added.

Gusma expressed hope that this disclosure would ensure the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme operates at maximum efficiency in the future. “This case must not be repeated; there should be no ‘thorns in the flesh,’ so to speak. Everything must follow proper procedures,” he said.

It was previously reported that the Attorney General’s Office uncovered serious irregularities in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme, implicating three former high-ranking officials of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as suspects. The former Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, along with former Deputy Heads Sony Sanjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, allegedly exploited the construction of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) through foundations affiliated with them. The three were officially named suspects by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) following a series of interrogations on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
