Acting Regent of Kuansing Riau Continues Working Despite KPK Sealing Office

Pekanbaru (ANTARA) - The Acting Regent of Kuantan Singingi, Riau Province, Mukhlisin, has stated that he continues to work despite his current office and his former office as deputy regent being sealed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Mukhlisin assured that this condition does not disrupt the running of the government or public services. The local government, he continued, has prepared a temporary workspace so that government activities can proceed as usual. “My office is indeed sealed, but another room has been prepared. The important thing is that we can continue working,” said Mukhlisin after receiving the decree appointing him as Acting Regent of Kuansing at the Riau Governor’s Office in Pekanbaru on Thursday. Mukhlisin did not specify whether the new workspace is still within the regent’s office or elsewhere. However, he revealed that his current workspace is more cramped. “Even though the room is narrower, it is not a problem. The most important thing is that services to the public continue to run,” he stated. He said that the alleged corruption case involving the regional leadership must serve as a lesson so that future governance is better, cleaner, and more transparent. “God willing, in the future we will run the government in accordance with applicable rules and regulations. Hopefully, no similar cases will occur again in Kuantan Singingi Regency,” he asserted.
