Acting Regent: KPK Advises Tulungagung OPD Heads Not to Travel During Investigation
Tulungagung, East Java (ANTARA) - Acting Regent (Plt) of Tulungagung Ahmad Baharudin stated that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has advised heads of regional apparatus organisations (OPDs) not to travel outside the city to facilitate the ongoing investigation process in the alleged extortion case. The advice, Baharudin said in Tulungagung, East Java, on Friday, aims to ease the summoning and examination of local officials who may be needed at any time for statements in the development of the case implicating the inactive Regent of Tulungagung, Gatut Sunu Wibowo. “The information we received is that the KPK advises OPD heads not to leave the city because they may be asked for statements again at any time,” he said. Nevertheless, the local government continues to provide tolerance for OPD heads with urgent interests, such as attending official invitations from ministries or health needs, through a permission mechanism. According to Baharudin, the policy is taken to maintain the smoothness of the legal process while ensuring that all officials act cooperatively towards the investigators. Meanwhile, regarding the use of Pendopo Kongas Arum Kusumaning Bongso, which was previously the site of a search, Baharudin admitted he has not yet received confirmation on whether it can be used again. “For now, we are still working from the Regional Secretariat while awaiting further information,” he said.
