Acting on asset foreclosure

JAKARTA (JP): Lawyer J.M. Sutarman on Tuesday urged the finance minister, the governor of Bank Indonesia and the chairman of the Capital Market Supervisory Agency to honor and follow up the South Jakarta district court's order last week for the foreclosure on two properties of Bank Bali in Jakarta and Tangerang, West Java.

Sutarman, a lawyer for Mrs. Gina Widjaya, said in a legal notice to the three senior officials that they should see to it that any deals related to Bank Bali and the two properties should be put on hold pending the final resolution of the case or else "we would sue the government at the State Administrative Court."

The foreclosure was issued by Presiding Judge Djalius Amin at the request of Mrs. Widjaya, who sued Bank Bali and its vice president Tan Tjio Tong for damages related to a litigation case the defendants filed against the plaintiff and her husband, Bambang Sutrisno, at the Singapore High Court, over a bad loan.
