Acting Jampidsus Reveals Attorney General's Message to Handle Febrie Case Professionally

Acting Jampidsus Rudi Margono has revealed the message from Attorney General (JA) ST Burhanuddin following his appointment to replace Febrie Adriansyah. Rudi was instructed to handle cases professionally, including the three corruption cases implicating Febrie Adriansyah. “(The Attorney General’s message) is to handle it professionally, and this is not just for this case (Febrie’s case), all cases must be handled professionally to be more beneficial for law enforcement, but also more humane because we uphold the presumption of innocence,” Rudi Margono told reporters at the Attorney General’s Office building in South Jakarta on Saturday (11/7/2026). Rudi said he only received the assignment as Acting Jampidsus in the early hours of the morning. He stated the appointment was a mandate that must be carried out. “It was today (the assignment). In the early hours. (Directly by the Attorney General) Well, that’s technical, what is clear is that we were appointed, a mandate from God through the Attorney General to carry out technical managerial duties at Jampidsus,” he revealed. Rudi said he would gather the Jampidsus ranks to verify which cases are priorities. In addition to resolving cases, he also stressed the importance of recovering state assets. “We will verify which ones are priorities to be resolved first, especially the suspected cases. Then what is more important is asset recovery in handling corruption crimes,” said Rudi. Regarding the status of former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah, Rudi confirmed information that Febrie has been named a suspect by the Kortas Tipikor Polri. However, he said no detention has been carried out against Febrie yet. “The information is that he has been named a suspect by the Kakortas. Not yet, no detention has been carried out, according to the information,” Rudi added. Rudi said Febrie has submitted his resignation. Currently, the administrative process is still awaiting an official decision from President Prabowo Subianto through a Presidential Decree (Keppres). “He has resigned, if I’m not mistaken. Yes, it is still being processed, the Keppres is still being processed. Formally, we are still waiting for the Keppres for the official resignation from the President. Whether he resigns from Jampidsus or resigns as a civil servant, we will review it later,” Rudi explained. Rudi assured that the Attorney General’s Office will coordinate with Kortas Tipikor Polri in handling the transferred cases. His party will immediately study the evidence and conduct a joint case expose. “We will ensure our professionalism in handling this case. With the transfer (of the case), it is not completely detached, but we remain synergised to ensure the handling of this case is truly professional,” he concluded. The three transferred cases are alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) in coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel. Police have searched a money changer and Cafe de’Clan Signature in the Cipete area, South Jakarta, as well as a house in the Bogor area, West Java. During the searches, police seized a number of pieces of evidence, ranging from gold bars to foreign currency worth billions of rupiah. Polda Metro Jaya Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, reiterated that the handling of these three corruption cases is to follow up on directives from President Prabowo Subianto. Polri is committed to supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s national priorities in strengthening corruption eradication. “We are here to convey the investigation process of alleged corruption, bribery, gratification, and or money laundering crimes,” said Budi. He said the handling of the case is in line with the seventh Asta Cita in the government’s agenda, which is to strengthen political, legal, and bureaucratic reform, as well as strengthen the prevention and eradication of corruption. “The eradication of corruption is the attention of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the seventh Asta Cita priority programme, which is to strengthen political, legal, and bureaucratic reform, as well as strengthen the prevention and eradication of corruption,” he stated. He said Polri is also part of the state apparatus carrying out national priorities. He said the case is being handled through a joint investigation between the Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Dittipikor) of Bareskrim Polri and a joint team from Polda Metro Jaya.
