Acting Jampidsus: Febrie Adriansyah Case Handled Without Favouritism

Acting Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Rudi Margono has revealed Attorney General ST Burhanuddin’s firm directive regarding the handling of the corruption case implicating former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. The Attorney General has requested that all such cases be resolved professionally and humanely. There are three major cases now the focus of handling after being transferred by the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps. These cases include alleged corruption and money laundering in a coal supply project for a PT PLN power plant, alleged collusion in the handling of a corruption case at PT ASABRI, and the settlement of debts between PT CBS-KNI. Rudi stressed that the Attorney General has instructed that the legal process proceed according to professional corridors, even though the case involves a former high-ranking official within the Adhyaksa Corps. ‘It is being handled professionally,’ Rudi stated in Jakarta on Saturday. In addition to professionalism, ST Burhanuddin also emphasised the importance of a humanistic approach at every stage of the investigation. This is intended to ensure that law enforcement not only provides certainty but also respects the rights of the individuals involved. ‘This is not just for this case, all cases must be handled professionally to be more beneficial for law enforcement, but also must be more humanistic because we uphold the presumption of innocence,’ Rudi added, quoting the Attorney General’s directive. The transfer of the case from the Police to the Attorney General’s Office occurred after Febrie Adriansyah was named a suspect by the police. This move serves as a test of the Attorney General’s Office’s transparency and integrity in thoroughly investigating alleged violations within its own institution.
