An ACK fast-food restaurant on Jalan Raya Lebih, Banjar Lebih Beten Kelod, Lebih Village, Gianyar District, caught fire. The blaze is suspected to have been caused by a gas leak.

“The fire at the ACK restaurant building on Jalan Raya Lebih broke out at around 8.28am local time,” Gianyar Police Public Relations Section head Ipda Gusti Ngurah Suardita said in a statement on Thursday (8 October 2026).

Suardita said the fire began while an ACK employee, identified by the initials Putu AY, was cooking rice in the kitchen. While cooking, AY saw flames spurting from the LPG gas hose.

AY then reported the fire to the police and fire brigade. Two fire engines were deployed to extinguish the blaze.

“The building’s owner contacted the Gianyar Regency Fire and Rescue Service. At around 8.35am local time, two fire engines arrived at the scene and began efforts to put out the fire,” Suardita said.

Suardita said the fire was extinguished at 9.20am. Officers then investigated to determine its cause. The initial findings point to a leak in the LPG hose.

There were no casualties in the fire, which damaged a building measuring 4 by 10 metres. The restaurant’s owner suffered estimated losses of around Rp200 million.

“We urge the public always to check that stoves, regulators and gas hoses are safe before use. If you smell gas, avoid lighting a flame or operating electrical switches, and take safety precautions immediately,” he said.
