Acid Sprayer Calls Andrie Yunus Arrogant and Overacting During TNI Bill Meeting Intrusion
JAKARTA - One of the defendants in the acid dousing case against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, Sergeant Two Edi Sudarko, described Andrie as acting arrogantly and overreacting when he stormed a closed-door meeting discussing the revision of the TNI Bill at Hotel Fairmont Jakarta on 16 March 2025.
Edi made this statement during the trial examining the four defendants in the acid dousing case at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
“Why did you focus on following Andrie Yunus on social media?” asked Military Auditor Lieutenant Colonel Corps of Law (Chk) TNI Muhammad Iswadi to Edi in the courtroom at Military Court II-08 Jakarta.
Edi admitted to becoming emotional after watching the video and expressed his annoyance to another defendant, Lieutenant One Budhi Hariyanto Widhi.
“What did you say to defendant 2?” asked the auditor.
“I told (Budhi) that I felt annoyed seeing in the video that Andrie Yunus was arrogant, overacting while representing the Hotel Fairmont point, and lacking manners. I considered it as trampling on the dignity of the TNI,” Edi revealed.
During the trial, Edi also admitted to having intended to punch Andrie. However, Budhi reportedly suggested dousing Andrie with acid.
“What was the response from the defendant (Budhi Hariyanto Widhi) when you stated ‘I want to punch Andrie Yunus’?” asked the auditor.
“Then defendant 2 said ‘don’t punch him, let’s just douse him’. That’s it, permission,” Edi explained.
The four defendants are Sergeant Two Edi Sudarko, Lieutenant One (Lettu) Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya, and Lettu Sami Lakka.
The motive for the four defendants’ actions stemmed from being offended by Andrie Yunus’s intrusion into the TNI Bill meeting at Hotel Fairmont Jakarta on 16 March 2025.
“The defendants assessed that Andrie Yunus had insulted the TNI institution and even trampled on the TNI institution,” stated Military Auditor Lieutenant Colonel Corps of Law (Chk) TNI Muhammad Iswadi during the trial at Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday.
