Acid Attack Case to Be Tried, TNI Yet to Examine Victim Andrie Yunus
The Military Prosecutor’s Office II-07 Jakarta states that it has not yet examined the victim, KontraS activist Andrie Yunus, in the acid attack case carried out by four TNI soldiers.
The head of the Military Prosecutor’s Office II-07 Jakarta, Colonel Chk Andri Wijaya, confirmed that the case file for the acid attack has been handed over to the Military Court II-08 Jakarta, as it already possesses two pieces of evidence, witness statements, and confessions from the perpetrators.
This case involves four TNI BAIS soldiers: Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetia (NDP), Lieutenant Sami Lakka (SL), Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi (BHW), and Sergeant Edi Sudarko (ES).
“Based on procedural law provisions, as investigators, the Military Police have fulfilled the requirement of two pieces of evidence, allowing the case to be forwarded to the prosecutor or Oditur,” said Andri at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Thursday (16/4/2026).
“For the victim witness, as investigators and also as Oditur, we have properly summoned twice,” Andri continued.
Andri explained that Andrie Yunus’s condition does not yet allow for his statement to be taken, as he is still undergoing medical treatment.
“In this case, represented by the LPSK, there has been a submission from the LPSK that the victim witness cannot be questioned for some time ahead, and we do not know the reason due to health issues,” Andri clarified.
He assured that the legal process will continue and the trial will proceed soon, relying on other witness statements and the evidence already collected.
“The victim witness’s statement is indeed needed, but it is not absolute because there is already evidence in the form of a medical examination report, witnesses who saw the incident, and statements from the suspects,” said Andri.
“This case file has met the formal and material requirements, so it can be processed into the Oditur’s opinion report and the legal opinion letter from the Head of the Military Court,” said Andri Wijaya during a press conference at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Thursday morning.
Based on Kompas.com observations, the Military Prosecutor’s team arrived at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta around 09:34 WIB, carrying a large cardboard box suspected to contain the case file.
The box was carried by two TNI members and handed over to the court as part of the trial process.
The trial for the acid attack case against Andrie Yunus will be held at the Military Court in East Jakarta on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
