Jakarta (ANTARA) - Actress Acha Septriasa is celebrating Eid al-Adha this year while working in Jakarta, away from her daughter and parents, but plans to spend the holiday with relatives in the capital.

“This year, I’m working in Jakarta for Eid al-Adha. I’m spending time with my immediate and extended family, although my core family—Bridgia, my daughter, and my parents—are in Australia,” Acha said during a visit to ANTARA on Monday.

Of Minangkabau descent, Acha acknowledged that she regularly enjoys Minangkabau dishes rich in coconut milk once a week, so she is accustomed to such food during Eid al-Adha. In her daily routine, she often cooks dendeng balado, chicken curry, and goat dishes.

“For me, the meaning of Eid al-Adha is always the opportunity to gather with family, perform Eid prayers, and observe fasting in Dhu al-Hijjah,” she added.

The star of the film “Suamiku Lukaku” also stated that Eid al-Adha is a joyful time for sharing with others through qurban.

“Based on calculations and moon sightings, 1 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH has been confirmed to fall on Monday, 18 May 2026, thus Eid al-Adha will be on Wednesday, 27 May 2026,” said Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar during the Sidang Isbat in Jakarta on Sunday.
