Acerpure Targets 40% TKDN Certification for Indonesian Market Entry
Acer Indonesia has officially announced that its latest room cooling product, the Acerpure Chill, is currently in the process of obtaining the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) certification. The move is a form of compliance with and commitment to the industry regulations set by the Indonesian government.
Operational Senior Director of Acer Indonesia, Parman Iskak, explained that the certification process is under way and is expected to be completed in the near future. Management assured that a separate official announcement would be made once the certification is formally issued.
“What is our target score for the TKDN? Certainly no less than the score required by the government, which is 40%. So, we hope, and we are all working hard to ensure our products pass the testing and certification to achieve a score of 40%,” said Parman Iskak.
Beyond meeting local content standardisation, Acerpure has also designed its product line to respond to current shifts in consumer behaviour that increasingly prioritise health, synergy, and environmental sustainability. One crucial point highlighted is energy efficiency, which is also a primary concern of the local government.
To reduce power consumption, the Acer Group employs Direct Current (DC) motor technology across all its air circulation devices. The use of this component is claimed to significantly cut electricity consumption compared to conventional technology.
“In truth, power efficiency has been very important to the government from day one. So, we decided that all our products, especially fans and air purifiers, would use DC motors. They can save more than 30% compared to traditional air conditioners,” concluded an Acer management representative.
Through a combination of meeting the 40% TKDN regulatory requirement and incorporating energy-saving technology, Acerpure is optimistic that the Acerpure Chill will be well received by the Indonesian public as an eco-friendly and efficient household appliance solution.
