JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Riko Gunawan, Director of Product and Solution at PT Acer Indonesia, has rejected claims that his company was enriched by as much as Rp425.2 billion in the alleged corruption case involving Chromebook-based laptop procurement during the Mendikbudristek era of Nadiem Makarim. He stated this while testifying as a witness at the case trial in Jakarta’s Corruption Court on Thursday, 5 March 2026.

‘In 2022, total? Sir, 2022. Was your total income Rp 419 billion plus Rp 5 billion, meaning Rp 424 billion from the total procurement under the DAK and DIPA this, sir?’ asked one of Nadiem’s lawyers during the hearing at Jakarta’s Corruption Court, Thursday.

Riko said that the margin or profit earned by his company was far from the figure mentioned in the indictment. He explained that, based on data held by Acer Indonesia, in the period 2020–2022 the company earned a profit of Rp 76 billion. ‘All of that total margin is 4.7 percent, around Rp 76 billion. Over three years,’ said Riko.

Nadiem’s camp highlighted that Acer only appeared in procurements in 2020 and 2022. They concluded that Acer’s profit was smaller than what Riko stated. ‘Not at all,’ replied Riko.

Nadiem Makarim’s lawyers then asked again for data showing Acer’s profit of Rp425 billion. ‘Is there any data you presented that could reach Rp 425 billion?’ he asked. ‘Honestly, I don’t know where that figure comes from,’ answered Riko.

Nadiem Makarim has been charged with causing state financial losses of Rp2.1 trillion in the alleged Chromebook-based laptop procurement case.
