Acehnese Mother and Her Baby Allegedly Tortured to Death in Malaysia
An Indonesian woman from Aceh Tamiang, Putri Hensy Aprilda (22), has allegedly been murdered in Malaysia. The victim, who was pregnant, is believed to have been brutally tortured until she gave birth prematurely.
"The victim was tortured very cruelly. Her stomach was stomped on and punched repeatedly until she eventually gave birth on her own before her due date. In that condition, the baby was born covered in blood," said Sudirman Haji Uma, a member of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) from Aceh, as reported by detikSumut on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
He stated that he received the information after his team and the Aceh United Association (Gabungan Aceh Bersatu - GAB) in Malaysia conducted an investigation and handled the repatriation arrangements for the bodies of the victim and her baby. According to the information gathered, the incident occurred on 25 March in the Klang area, Selangor.
The alleged assault led to the victim giving birth prematurely. The baby is also believed to have been tortured until death. "The baby was not harmed just once, but is suspected of being repeatedly treated cruelly until it died," he explained.
The victim, a worker from Alur Manis Village, Rantau District, Aceh Tamiang, was initially identified following information from the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur. According to a report received by the Aceh United Association team in Malaysia, Putri and her baby were allegedly murdered by a woman in the Sepang area, Selangor, on Wednesday (3/6).
The bodies were found in separate locations. Putri’s remains are currently at Serdang Hospital, Selangor, while the baby’s body is at Shah Alam Hospital. The perpetrator has been arrested by Malaysian authorities.
"Based on the information we received through the KBRI Kuala Lumpur, the alleged perpetrator is a Malaysian woman. The suspect was successfully detained on 19 June 2026 and is currently undergoing legal proceedings in accordance with applicable laws in Malaysia," Haji Uma stated.
