Regenerating leadership at the local level poses a challenge alongside the need for adaptive and competitive young leaders. In Aceh, the potential of the youth is considered substantial, yet it has not been fully converted into productive leadership capacity.

In connection with this, the Yayasan Aneuk Muda Aceh Unggul dan Hebat (AMANAH) is preparing to strengthen its mentoring programme ahead of its relaunch in April 2026. One of the programmes being run is the Future Leaders Bootcamp (FLB), which focuses on developing character and leadership.

The programme, held in the Aceh Industrial Area, Ladong, Aceh Besar, was attended by 26 selected participants from various districts and cities. Participants were selected through a process emphasising leadership potential and commitment to self-development.

AMANAH Foundation Chairman Saifullah Muhammad stated that strengthening the ecosystem is a key factor in fostering the emergence of young leaders. “Aceh’s youth do not lack potential. What is needed is an ecosystem capable of transforming that potential into productivity and competitiveness,” said Saifullah in his statement on Monday (20/4/2026).

The programme materials cover character strengthening, entrepreneurship, life vision formulation, and future planning. Participants were also equipped with communication and public speaking skills to support the delivery of ideas.

Academic from Syiah Kuala University Said Muniruddin said that leadership requires a balance between intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. The integration of these three aspects is deemed important in shaping a leader’s character.

In the future, AMANAH plans to expand collaborations with various parties to strengthen the youth development ecosystem. This step is aimed at opening wider opportunities for the younger generation to develop their leadership capacity.

The relaunch of the institution is expected to serve as a momentum to expand the reach of the programmes and strengthen its role in mentoring young leaders in the region.
