Aceh Ventura gets loan

JAKARTA (JP): Venture capital firm PT Sarana Aceh Ventura has
received a Rp 12 billion (US$5 million) soft loan from Japan, the
company said over the weekend.

Company president director Noer Yoesoef said the loan was part
of the total $200 million soft loan given by the Japanese
government to venture capital firms throughout the country.

Sarana Aceh had invested around Rp 1.2 billion in 33 small and
middle businesses throughout the province, Noer was quoted by
Antara as saying.

The small companies, which were mostly engaged in trade,
industry and agribusiness, received between Rp 1 million and Rp
50 million each.

Sarana Aceh did not only lay out money for the companies but
also helped them in marketing and management, he said. (jsk)
