Aceh, the First Province to Exchange Land Data with the Central Government
The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Aceh Provincial Government regarding synergy in the fields of agrarian affairs, land, and spatial planning.
This cooperation positions Aceh as the first province in Indonesia to have a formal coordination mechanism for the integrated exchange of data and spatial information with the central government.
The MoU signing took place at the Ministry of ATR/BPN office in Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5/2026), represented by the Secretary General of the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Dalu Agung Darmawan.
Previously, the cooperation document had been signed earlier by Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf in Banda Aceh.
Dalu stated that the scope of the cooperation covers strengthening agrarian and land governance in Aceh Province.
“This is indeed our task at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, starting from governance and asset certification, then spatial planning along with control, as well as assistance in preventing and handling disputes. This is important for agrarian development in Aceh,” he continued.
According to him, synergy between the central government and the Aceh Provincial Government is expected to accelerate various strategic land programmes, including the legalisation of community assets and the resolution of land dispute issues.
“Next, the Aceh Provincial Government with the Aceh Provincial BPN Regional Office will prepare further cooperation. Please follow up, Mr. Head of Regional Office and the Heads of Land Offices,” he said.
On that occasion, the Aceh Provincial Government was represented by the Head of the Bureau of Government and Regional Autonomy of the Aceh Regional Secretariat, Bob Mizwar.
He stated that the cooperation is expected to accelerate land legality and support business certainty for the community, especially farmers in Aceh.
“Through this MoU, we hope that efforts to accelerate the land legalisation process will have a direct impact on business certainty for farmers. This also provides options for more integrated resolution of agrarian disputes with the centre, including promoting the optimisation of the Land Object of Agrarian Reform (TORA) programme in Aceh,” Bob said.
This cooperation also forms part of efforts to strengthen spatial planning and land control based on integrated spatial data between local and central governments.
