Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Aceh Tamiang Regency Government has allocated funds amounting to Rp192 billion in the 2026 fiscal year to revitalise 254 educational units (schools) damaged by floods at the end of November 2025. “This revitalisation is not merely about rebuilding damaged structures, but an effort to reignite the learning spirit of the children,” said Aceh Tamiang Regent Armia Fahmi in Aceh Tamiang on Thursday. At the launch of the inaugural revitalisation programme at SMPN 2 Karang Baru, Armia stated that this revitalisation is a rapid response from the local government to the damage to learning facilities, as well as the implementation of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 7 of 2025 on the Acceleration of Development and Revitalisation of Educational Units. “We target the repair of all affected schools to be completed this year,” he said. He explained that education is the primary foundation for producing superior and characterful human resources (HR). Therefore, he urged project implementers to carry out the work in accordance with technical guidelines (juknis), maintain building quality, and ensure transparency and accountability. “The work must be of the right quality, on time, and on target. I also request that the teaching and learning process be ensured to continue smoothly during the construction period,” he said. In addition to infrastructure repairs, the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government has also launched the Recitation Before Learning Movement. This programme is intended to balance academic intelligence with strengthening students’ spiritual values. “We want the Aceh Tamiang generation to not only be intellectually intelligent but also to possess noble morals and strong Islamic character,” said Armia. Meanwhile, Acting Head of the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) of Aceh Tamiang, Sepriyatno, detailed that there are 254 schools receiving the revitalisation programme this year, consisting of 119 TK/PAUD units with an allocation of Rp47.3 billion, 116 primary schools worth Rp109.7 billion, and 19 junior secondary schools amounting to Rp34.9 billion. “This programme is part of the Quick Best Results Programme (PHTC) to ensure that educational services return to normal, safe, and comfortable for students,” said Sepriyatno.
