Aceh Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Budget Reaches Rp58.97 Trillion

Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Sumatra Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR) has stated that the budget for rehabilitation and reconstruction of areas in Aceh Province affected by hydrometeorological disasters exceeds Rp58.97 trillion.

Safrizal ZA, head of the task force’s Aceh regional post in Banda Aceh, said on Friday that Aceh Province is receiving 58.97 per cent of the rehabilitation and reconstruction budget allocated to three provinces on Sumatra Island affected by hydrometeorological disasters.

“The total post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction budget allocated reaches Rp100.166 trillion. Of that amount, Aceh is receiving 58.97 per cent, or Rp58.97 trillion,” he said.

Safrizal said the post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction funds are divided across three budget years: Rp24.2 trillion in 2026, Rp20.2 trillion in 2027, and Rp14.5 trillion in 2028.

Safrizal, who also serves as Director-General of Regional Administration at the Ministry of Home Affairs, said Aceh’s post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction budget is allocated to the relevant ministries and agencies.

He said Satgas PRR Sumatra does not manage the budget. Implementation of the rehabilitation and reconstruction spending rests with the ministries and agencies.

“We invite all elements of society to oversee the rehabilitation and reconstruction process so that post-disaster recovery proceeds as hoped and communities can return to normal,” said Safrizal.

He explained that a number of ministries and agencies will carry out post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Aceh Province in 2026. The largest allocation sits with the Ministry of Public Works, at Rp12.5 trillion across 556 activities.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education receives Rp3.3 trillion with 210 activities, the Ministry of Social Affairs more than Rp2 trillion with 25 activities, and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas Rp1.8 trillion with 10 activities.

“We are also publicising the rehabilitation and reconstruction activities carried out by the ministries and agencies as a form of transparency and accountability to the public,” said Safrizal ZA.
