Aceh Recovery: Task Force Urges Nagan Raya Regency to Establish PRR Command Post
The Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Planning and Supervision Task Force (PRR) for Sumatra has requested the Nagan Raya Regency Government, Aceh Province, to establish a PRR Task Force Command Post at the regional level.
“The formation of a regional command post will facilitate better coordination and communication, as well as intensify inter-line and inter-sectoral disaster management,” stated Imran, a representative of the PRR Task Force, in Nagan Raya on Thursday.
Imran outlined three primary reasons why this post must be activated immediately. First, the post will optimise inter-sectoral relations within the region, while simplifying coordination and communication between local policymakers, the task force, and other relevant parties.
Secondly, the post will serve to produce a single unified data system derived from a common database. This is essential to ensure all parties utilise standardised data, preventing conflicting information from emerging in the field.
Thirdly, he noted, the post is expected to serve as a communication and public grievance medium, acting as a direct point of contact for citizens to report obstacles, issues, or operational hurdles encountered during the disaster impact management process.
Imran added that the urgency of establishing this post is increasing, as the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction process in Aceh Province is set to enter a long-term phase spanning three years, from 2026 through to 2028.
“The master plan for this recovery has been discussed and approved alongside the DPR (House of Representatives),” said Imran.
Acting Regional Secretary of Nagan Raya Regency, Hizbulwatan, stated that the local government is prepared to follow up on this directive and will immediately coordinate with relevant agencies and regional leaders to ensure the post is established.
“We are grateful for the presence of the Sumatra PRR Task Force in Nagan Raya, as this coordination is vital to facilitate the reconstruction of public facilities and residential homes damaged by the natural disasters that occurred in late 2025,” said Hizbulwatan.
