Aceh Recovery: Task Force Urges Nagan Raya Regency to Establish PRR Command Post
The Sumatran Planning and Supervision Task Force for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) has requested the Nagan Raya Regency Government in Aceh Province to establish a local Satgas PRR command post. A task force representative, Imran, stated in Nagan Raya on Thursday that creating a post in the region would facilitate better, more intensive coordination and communication across all lines and sectors involved in disaster management. Imran outlined three main reasons the post must be activated immediately. Firstly, the post will optimise inter-sector relations within the region while easing coordination and communication between local policymakers, the task force, and other relevant parties. Secondly, the post will function to produce a single data system sourced from a unified database, ensuring all parties use consistent data and preventing conflicting information in the field. Thirdly, the post is expected to serve as a media communication and public complaints channel, acting as a direct avenue for residents to report operational obstacles, problems, or hindrances encountered during the disaster impact handling process on the ground. Imran added that the urgency of establishing the post is heightened as the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction process in Aceh Province is about to enter a long-term phase lasting three years, from 2026 through to 2028. He confirmed that the recovery master plan has already been finalised and approved together with the House of Representatives. Acting Regional Secretary of Nagan Raya Regency, Hizbulwatan, said the local government is ready to follow up on the directive and will immediately coordinate with relevant agencies and regional leaders to realise the command post. He expressed gratitude for the presence of the Sumatran PRR Task Force in Nagan Raya, noting that such coordination is essential to facilitate the reconstruction of public facilities and residents’ homes damaged by the natural disaster that occurred at the end of 2025.
