Aceh PRR Task Force Urges Acceleration of Stimulus Funds and Permanent Housing
The Head of the Regional Command Post for the Aceh Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force, Safrizal Zakaria Ali, is urging all district and city Regional Disaster Management Agencies to immediately accelerate the absorption of housing stimulus funds and speed up the construction of Permanent Housing. Safrizal also stressed the importance of effective fieldwork so that the rights of the community can be fulfilled promptly. “I ask all BPBD ranks to immediately accelerate fund absorption and speed up the progress of Permanent Housing. Avoid further delays and actively reach out so that the community’s rights are fulfilled on time,” Safrizal said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. The emergency-to-recovery transition period following the disaster in Aceh has now entered its final phase and will conclude on 30 July 2026. According to data as of 14 July 2026, the National Disaster Management Agency has disbursed stimulus assistance to BPBDs in Aceh totalling Rp653.7 billion. Of that amount, Rp570.03 billion has entered community accounts, with total spending realisation for the entire Aceh Province reaching Rp240,576,246,500. In terms of stimulus fund utilisation, Aceh Tamiang Regency recorded the highest spending realisation in Aceh, reaching Rp140.9 billion. Conversely, Gayo Lues Regency recorded the lowest spending realisation, making it one of the areas receiving special attention from the Task Force. Meanwhile, for the severely damaged house category, the government is targeting the completion of 12,671 permanent housing units. Currently, 398 units are under construction and 85 units have been completed. The Task Force reminded that this acceleration is crucial so that all affected residents can immediately have decent housing before the transition period ends.
