The Chairman of the Postko Satgas for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Aceh, Safrizal, inspected the construction of the last temporary housing (huntara) in Buket Linteung Village, Langkahan Subdistrict, North Aceh. The village’s location in a palm oil plantation area with rocky road access made the journey to the site take about two hours from Lhoksukon.

During the visit, Safrizal reviewed the huntara construction in Leubok Meuku Hamlet and Kareung Hamlet, which is the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Works (PU).

The Director General of Strategic Infrastructure of the Ministry of PU, Bisma Staniarto, explained that each location is being built with seven blocks of housing with a capacity of 84 rooms. However, in Kareung Hamlet, there are 76 rooms available because some units are used for a musala facility. Each huntara unit is equipped with a bed, fan, and cupboard, and is supported by public facilities such as bathrooms, kitchen, electricity, and clean water.

In addition, Safrizal also inspected the huntara construction carried out by BNPB in Teungoh Hamlet, which consists of 23 blocks with a total of 114 rooms. At this location, bathroom facilities are available in every unit so there is no need for general MCK.

“The huntara construction is targeted to be completed on 19 March 2026 with a 24-hour work system. About 70% of the workforce comes from local residents, with adjustments to working hours during Ramadan,” said Safrizal.

He asked the regional government to immediately relocate evacuees from tents to huntara no later than 20 March 2026. He also instructed that the placement of occupants be well-regulated, including prioritising the elderly and people with disabilities in locations close to public facilities.

In addition to the inspection, Safrizal visited evacuees who are still in tents and handed over assistance in the form of kitchen equipment packages. He assured that all huntara construction will be completed before Lebaran and ready to be occupied by disaster-affected residents.
