Aceh Provincial Police Take Over Alleged Assault Case Involving Pidie Jaya Deputy Regent
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Provincial Police has taken over the handling of the alleged assault case involving the Deputy Regent of Pidie Jaya, Aceh Province.
The Pidie Jaya Police Chief, AKBP Ahmad Faisal Pasaribu, in Pidie Jaya on Thursday, stated that the takeover of the case handling is intended to ensure the process runs professionally, transparently, and in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
“With this takeover, it is hoped that the case handling can proceed optimally and provide legal certainty for all involved parties,” said the Police Chief.
Previously, the Pidie Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit conducted a case presentation along with the submission of the police report related to the alleged criminal assault with the suspect initialled HB, who serves as the Deputy Regent of Pidie Jaya.
The Police Chief stated that the case presentation took place in the Aceh Provincial Police Directorate of General Criminal Investigation’s room. This presentation is a follow-up to the police report dated 2 April 2026. The case was reported by a resident named Zikrillah.
“The presented case is an alleged criminal assault that occurred in the Deputy Regent of Pidie Jaya’s pendopo meeting room in Gampong Kota Meureudu, Meureudu Subdistrict, Pidie Jaya Regency, on Monday (30/3),” he said.
After the presentation and case review of the alleged assault, said Ahmad Faisal Pasaribu, the case handling has officially been taken over by the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Provincial Police.
“Then, all investigation administration has been handed over to the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Aceh Provincial Police for further processing,” said Ahmad Faisal Pasaribu.
