Aceh proposes economic working group within Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs coordination desk
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah has proposed the establishment of an economic development working group (Pokja) within the planned Aceh Coordination Desk currently being discussed with the Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polkam).
Fadhlullah said in a statement in Banda Aceh on Thursday that the working group is needed so that efforts to address poverty and unemployment, as well as to improve the welfare of the people of Aceh, can be carried out in a more focused manner.
“This Aceh coordination desk is very good for Aceh’s economic development. We thank the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, General (Ret.) Djamari Chaniago,” said Fadhlullah.
The statement was made by Fadhlullah during the inaugural meeting on the planned establishment of the Aceh Coordination Desk, which was held by Kemenko Polkam in a hybrid format.
He explained that the Aceh Coordination Desk is planned to serve as a platform for cross-ministerial and institutional coordination with the Aceh Government in supporting governance and addressing various strategic issues in the region.
According to him, the coordination desk is expected to strengthen coordination, early detection, prevention, handling, monitoring and evaluation of various issues in Aceh.
The coordination covers, among other things, political and security stability, strengthening governance, the implementation of Aceh’s special status and special autonomy, development and public welfare, as well as basic services.
Fadhlullah said the ministries and institutions participating in the discussions in principle support the establishment of the Aceh Coordination Desk and agree on the need to refine the concept, structure, membership, division of tasks and working mechanisms.
“Including the appointment of personnel from ministries and institutions and elements of the Aceh Government, so that the implementation of the Aceh Coordination Desk runs effectively and does not overlap with existing authorities,” he said.
A number of ministries and institutions involved in the discussions include Kemenko Polkam, the Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections, the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ministry of Finance.
In addition, the Ministry of Law, the Ministry of Human Rights, the Ministry of State Secretariat, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, the Ministry of Manpower, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, and the Government Communication Agency.
Other elements include the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS), the Attorney General’s Office, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), the Aceh Government, and relevant regional elements.
Fadhlullah assessed that the involvement of these various ministries and institutions can drive Aceh’s development, particularly in economic development, improving the quality of human resources, and strengthening governance.
He specifically proposed the establishment of an economic development working group within the Aceh Coordination Desk so that there is a team focused on helping the region address poverty and unemployment and improve public welfare.
“We hope the Aceh Coordination Desk will be established soon. The Aceh Government fully supports it, and thank you for this extraordinary support,” said Fadhlullah.
