Aceh Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Budget Reaches IDR 58.97 Trillion

The Task Force for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) for Sumatra has announced that the budget allocation for the recovery of areas affected by hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh Province has reached IDR 58.97 trillion. This amount accounts for 58.97 per cent of the total post-disaster rehabilitation budget for Aceh across three provinces on the island of Sumatra. The Head of the Aceh Regional Post for the Sumatra PRR Task Force, Safrizal ZA, explained that the total budget allocated by the central government for disaster management in Sumatra amounts to IDR 100.166 trillion. Of this total, Aceh received the largest portion. “Aceh received 58.97 per cent, or IDR 58.97 trillion,” Safrizal stated in Banda Aceh on Friday (24/7/2026). The substantial funds are not being disbursed all at once but are divided across three fiscal years to ensure the sustainability of the recovery process. Safrizal, who also serves as Director General of Regional Administration Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, stressed that the Sumatra PRR Task Force does not manage the budget directly. The funds are allocated directly to the relevant ministries and agencies (K/L) acting as technical implementers in the field. For the 2026 fiscal year, several ministries have been designated as the main implementers of rehabilitation and reconstruction in Aceh. The Ministry of Public Works holds the largest allocation for physical infrastructure development. Safrizal emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability in the execution of these projects. His party is committed to continuously publicising the progress of activities so that the public can directly monitor the recovery process. “We invite all elements of society to oversee the rehabilitation and reconstruction process so that post-disaster recovery proceeds as expected and the community’s condition can return to normal,” he concluded.
