Aceh Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Budget Reaches IDR 58.97 Trillion

The Sumatra Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Acceleration Task Force (Satgas PRR Sumatera) has announced that the budget allocated for the recovery of areas affected by hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh Province has reached Rp58.97 trillion. This figure represents 58.97 per cent of the total post-disaster rehabilitation budget for Aceh out of three provinces on Sumatra island.

Safrizal ZA, Head of the Aceh Regional Post of Satgas PRR Sumatera, explained that the total budget allocated by the central government for disaster management across Sumatra amounts to Rp100.166 trillion. Of this total, Aceh receives the largest share.

“Aceh receives 58.97 per cent, or as much as Rp58.97 trillion,” said Safrizal in Banda Aceh on Friday (24/7/2026).

The substantial funds will not be disbursed all at once, but rather divided across three fiscal years to ensure the sustainability of the recovery process:

Safrizal, who also serves as Director-General of Regional Administration at the Ministry of Home Affairs, stressed that Satgas PRR Sumatera does not manage the budget directly. The funds are allocated straight to the relevant ministries and agencies (K/L) that serve as the technical implementers on the ground.

For the 2026 fiscal year, several ministries have been designated as the main implementers of rehabilitation and reconstruction in Aceh. The Ministry of Public Works holds the largest allocation for physical infrastructure development.

Safrizal emphasised the importance of transparency and accountability in the implementation of these projects. He committed to continuously publicising the progress of activities so that the public can directly monitor the recovery process.

“We invite all elements of society to safeguard the rehabilitation and reconstruction process so that post-disaster recovery proceeds as hoped and the condition of the people can return to normal,” he concluded.
