The post-disaster recovery process in Aceh continues to show progress. Several public service sectors are reported to be resuming operations, although conditions on the ground remain dynamic.

The Head of the Aceh Region Post for the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR), Safrizal ZA, stated that rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts are being accelerated in various affected areas.

During a media gathering in Banda Aceh on Tuesday (7/4/2026), he conveyed that out of 18 affected districts and cities, 10 regions have already resumed normal government services.

For temporary infrastructure, the construction of emergency bridges is nearly complete. The TNI has completed 97 units of bridges, while the Polri has reached approximately 95 percent of the set target.

A similar situation is occurring in the education sector. Of the total schools affected, 3,120 schools have now resumed teaching and learning activities.

Safrizal emphasised that recovery progress on the ground can change at any time. Infrastructure and service conditions may shift in line with the situations faced.

The media gathering was also attended by representatives from ministries and agencies, technical institutions, as well as journalists from various national and local organisations and media.
