Aceh Police Increase Patrols to Prevent Security Disruptions During Eid Exodus
Banda Aceh — The Aceh Regional Police have increased patrols at several high-risk locations to prevent security and public order disruptions during the Eid exodus in 2026.
“We are reminding our personnel to intensify patrols, particularly at high-risk areas prone to crime and public order disturbances, as the Eid al-Fitr holiday approaches,” said Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Marzuki Ali Basyah in Banda Aceh on Sunday.
The Police Chief also urged the public not to hesitate in seeking assistance from police officers if they encounter difficulties or potential security and public order threats.
“The public can utilise the 110 emergency Call Centre service, which is operational 24 hours a day at no cost. If you encounter any public order disruptions, traffic accidents, or require police assistance, please use this service immediately,” he said.
Regarding security measures for the Eid al-Fitr exodus for the year 1447 Hijriah, the Police Chief stated that the Aceh Regional Police, along with the Regional and District Police, are launching Operation Ketupat Seulawah 2026. The operation will run for 13 days from 13 to 25 March 2026.
During the operation, the Aceh Regional Police will establish 61 posts, comprising 34 security posts, 23 service posts, and four integrated posts distributed across 23 regencies and cities throughout Aceh Province.
The operation will involve 3,279 combined personnel from the Aceh Regional Police, Regional Police, and District Police, along with support from various relevant agencies. The deployment of these personnel is aimed at ensuring that the Eid exodus and holiday celebrations proceed safely and comfortably for the public.
“We emphasise that personnel involved in Operation Ketupat Seulawah must maintain cohesion and provide the best service to the public with sincerity,” he said.
Regarding current public order and traffic conditions during the exodus, Marzuki Ali Basyah reported that conditions are under control and sufficiently conducive. Police are prepared to provide a sense of security and comfort for the public, particularly for those travelling during the exodus.
“We also remind travellers to exercise caution during their journey and comply with police directives for mutual safety and security. Safe travels, happy families,” said Marzuki Ali Basyah.
