Aceh Regional Police Chief Irjen Marzuki Ali Basyah has emphasised his commitment to continuing oversight of post-disaster handling in Aceh Province, especially ahead of the rehabilitation and reconstruction phase scheduled to begin in early April 2026. Since the disaster occurred, Polri, along with various elements, has mobilised maximum efforts, including personnel support and the deployment of aircraft and vessels to accelerate on-site responses. Currently, the Aceh Police Chief is also ensuring that the construction of permanent housing (Huntap) by Polri in Aceh Tamiang Regency is proceeding according to target. A total of 150 Huntap units are targeted for completion on time as part of recovery efforts for affected communities. “Alhamdulillah, the construction progress is going well. We hope all work can be completed according to target, so that these facilities can be used soon,” stated the Aceh Police Chief in his remarks, quoted on Thursday (25/3). The Aceh Police Chief explained that the permanent housing construction project includes a total of 150 houses with various constructions, namely 50 wooden houses, 50 instant panel system houses (Ruspin), and 50 precast material houses. He also appreciated the construction progress achievements, which are seen as showing positive developments to date. Furthermore, the Aceh Police Chief assured that the construction of Huntap on a 7.5-hectare plot is proceeding according to target, both in terms of quality and timeliness of work. He emphasised that the permanent housing construction is not only focused on providing physical infrastructure but also serves as a concrete manifestation of Polri’s concern in supporting the recovery of community social life post-disaster. “This Huntap construction is expected to restore a sense of security, foster optimism, and bring back hope for the community to build a better future after being affected by the flood disaster,” he said. In addition, based on data as of 24 March, Polri has also contributed to the construction of 41 bridges in affected areas. The details are: in Aceh Province, 21 out of 22 units or about 95% have been built; in West Sumatra, all 10 units have been completed 100%; while in North Sumatra, 4 out of 5 units have been completed or reached 80%. “Only 1 bridge remains to be built in Samarena village, Bandar sub-district, Bener Meriah Regency, with progress already at 60%,” he explained. On the other hand, Polri has also recorded full achievements in repairing borehole infrastructure, which has been completed 100%. In detail, repairs were carried out on 260 units in Aceh Province, 37 units in North Sumatra, and 74 units in West Sumatra. Meanwhile, the total deployment of Polri personnel at affected locations currently reaches 1,441 personnel, consisting of 808 personnel in Aceh, 312 in North Sumatra, and 330 in West Sumatra.
